Notice of Race
1. RULES
This Regatta will be governed by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, this Notice of Race (except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions), and the Sailing Instructions will be posted no later than 1000 hrs on the club notice board by the 21st of May 2023 and on our website. www.killaloesailingclub.com
2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1 General
This is an open event, for all dinghy types, maximum two persons on board.
Entry Fee: €20 double, €15 single handed, Junior Members will €5 per person.
3. Entry Procedure
• Entries will only be accepted on a completed entry form online www.killaloesailingclub.com
• Entry to the Series will close at 1030hrs on May 21st 2023
• One of either of the named crew or the named helm on the entry form must sail the boat entered for the Regatta. The named crew or named helm may not sail in a different boat in the same series.
4. Insurance
All private boats shall have third party insurance cover of not less than €2,000,000 (or the equivalent thereof in any other convertible currency) for any accident.
5. Registration & Race Schedule
Registration: from 0930hrs to 1030hrs on the Sunday 21st of May 2023 at KSC.
Races: 4 races are scheduled of which 1 shall be completed to constitute a series.
6. Briefing: 1030hrs
Warning Signal – First Race 1130hrs.
7. Scoring & prizes
The Low Point Scoring System Rule A4 will apply, modified so that each boat’s score will be the total of her race scores with her worst score/s discarded according to the table below
Discards applied based on races sailed
Up to 3 races no discard
4 races sailed 1 discard
8. PY (Portsmouth Yardstick) handicap system will apply. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
1st, 2nd and 3rd overall.
1st in Class prize if more than three boats in Class.
1st junior boat.
