Killaloe Sailing Club is a family oriented sailing club and so we are delighted to have Junior members. Junior sailors are welcome to sail on any of the club nights, assuming they have the experience for racing on Tuesdays!
Thursday nights are our family nights and so are a great opportunity for everyone to get out on the water.
However our most popular weekly Junior sailing opportunity is the dedicated Junior Sailing on Sunday mornings from 10am to 1pm, for 8-16 year olds.
Junior sailing commences on the first Sunday in May and continues through to the end of September. We have a structured coaching programme in place, aimed at beginner and less experienced Juniors.
Safety and Fun are still the two main goals for the Junior Sailing. We aim to ensure that everyone gets out on the water every week. A few highlights to look out for are the day trip up the lake for a family picnic, the annual club regatta and the end of season Junior regatta and BBQ.
To safely run each Sunday morning session, parent volunteers are needed. Parents are needed on the water and on land to safely supervise the mornings. It is really important for us that parents can commit to helping on about 3 or 4 mornings over the season (less if there are more parents!).
