Killaloe Sailing Club, established in 1973, is a dinghy sailing club located 3 km from the twin villages of Killaloe/Ballina, on the western shore of beautiful Lough Derg. The club is less than 20 km from Limerick city.
The club offers individuals and families the opportunity to enjoy dinghy sailing on the lake, in a safe environment, at whatever pace or level they wish. From the complete novice looking to establish the basics and just enjoy being out on the water, to the experienced sailor looking for the adrendalin of competitive racing.
A Warm Welcome Awaits
There is a tremendously friendly atmosphere in the club, and a warm welcome always awaits any new members. The club is always keen to expand its individual and family membership, so feel free to come along to see what it’s all about, and either give sailing a go for the first time, or return to sailing again if you haven’t been on the water in a while.
No Boat required
We have everything that you need to get you out and started sailing so you don’t need it. Boats, sails, safety boat and water all in a beautiful location. On site, there is a large car parking area, boat storage area, male and female changing rooms, and toilet. There is also a secure large shed for RIB/ rescue boat storage and other items. Access to the lake is by a low gradient slipway, and there is a modern jetty for ‘dry’ access into boats.
If you’re interested in joining have a look at the fees. They will be much less than you think.
